Hank Dugan grew up in his father’s concrete shop. He learned to read a slab the way most kids learn to read a book. In 2008, he founded Flooring & Epoxy Coat Pro on one idea: the durability of industrial coatings shouldn’t mean ugly floors.
Second-generation concrete craft.
Hank’s father ran a concrete business through the 1980s. Hank learned the trade as a kid – mixing mud, screeding slabs, watching what worked and what failed. The early lessons stuck: the prep is the product, and a slab will tell you everything if you know how to look at it.
In 2008, Hank founded Flooring & Epoxy Coat Pro to do something his father’s generation couldn’t: combine the durability of industrial-grade coatings with the finish quality that actually belongs in a home or a showroom. He started with one crew, one truck, and one rule – diamond-grind every floor, no exceptions.
Eighteen years later, that rule still holds. The company has grown across multiple cities. The materials have evolved – epoxy gave way to polyaspartic, single-day installs replaced three-day cures. What hasn’t changed is the prep standard, the training, and the warranty.
Hank still personally trains every installer who joins the crew. He picks the materials, sets the install spec, and reviews every project’s quote and finished work. He doesn’t run a grinder on jobsites – the crew he trains does that. But every floor the crew installs is built to the standard Hank sets.
